Frequently asked questions

About Bon Fiction Couverture

Who is Bon Fiction?

Bon Fiction is a tree-to-bar Indian chocolate maker from the Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh. We manage the critical post-harvest stages of cacao, including fermentation and drying, and make our chocolate at our facility in Rajamahendravaram.

Bon Fiction is manufactured and marketed by GACS Foods.

What makes your couverture different?

Three things:

  • Single-origin Godavari cacao, with a distinctive flavour profile.
  • Real cocoa butter, with no palm oil or substitute fats.
  • Control over flavour development. We manage fermentation and drying and make the couverture ourselves.

We focus on flavour and quality rather than being the cheapest couverture in the market.

Has the cacao been independently assessed?

Yes. Our Godavari cacao, submitted by Bon Fiction and grower Abburi Subbarao, was selected among the Cacao of Excellence 2025 Best 50 from 191 samples across 45 origins, and later received a Bronze Award.

Bon Fiction chocolates have also won multiple international awards from the Academy of Chocolate and International Chocolate Salon.

What types of couverture do you offer?

We offer dark, milk and white couverture.

Tell us your application, whether moulding, enrobing, ganache, mousse or pastry, and we can recommend the right couverture.

Is it consistent batch to batch?

Yes. We standardise fermentation, drying, roasting, formulation and chocolate-making to maintain consistent flavour and working characteristics.

Cacao is an agricultural product, so minor natural variation can occur. If a batch behaves differently, let us know and we will investigate it.

What goes into it?

Ingredients vary by couverture. Our chocolates are made using cacao, real cocoa butter, sugar, dairy ingredients where applicable, and sunflower lecithin in select formulations.

  • No artificial flavouring
  • No preservativesNo palm oil
  • No cocoa butter substitute fats

Full ingredient and allergen information is available for every product.

Ordering and Minimums

What is your minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order is 1 kg, with bulk pricing starting at 10 kg.

This lets you trial the chocolate in your actual production before committing to larger quantities.

How do I get pricing?

Send us an enquiry and we will share the current price list on WhatsApp.

Pricing varies by quantity and whether you are an end user, distributor or reseller.

How do you band volumes?
  • 1 kg to under 10 kg: Standard trade rate
  • 10 kg to 50 kg: Bulk pricing
  • Above 50 kg: Volume pricing quoted individually

Distributor and reseller terms are structured separately.

Can I trial it before committing to volume?

Yes. You can start with 1 kg and test the couverture in your own recipes and production before scaling up.

Do you supply home bakers?

Yes. Our 1 kg minimum makes the couverture accessible to both professional kitchens and home bakers.

For occasional baking, our retail chocolate range may also be suitable.

Do you offer private label?

No. We supply couverture for you to use in your own finished products, with no requirement to credit Bon Fiction.

We do not manufacture finished chocolates under other brands.

Delivery and Packing

How quickly do you dispatch?

Orders are generally dispatched within 48 to 72 hours. Transit time depends on your pincode and courier serviceability.

When do you process and dispatch orders?

We process orders Monday to Saturday.

Orders placed before 10 AM are generally processed the same day. Saturday orders are dispatched on Monday to avoid consignments sitting in courier hubs over Sunday.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across India to all serviceable pincodes.

Send us your pincode if you would like us to confirm serviceability.

How do you prevent chocolate from melting in transit?

We use thermally insulated packaging, cooling gel packs where required, express shipping and careful dispatch scheduling to minimise heat exposure.

Temperature changes can occasionally cause chocolate bloom, which appears as a pale or whitish surface. Bloom is generally cosmetic and does not make the chocolate unsafe. Melting and correctly tempering couverture will usually restore its normal working characteristics.

If you are unsure about a shipment, send us a photograph.

How should I store couverture?

Store it sealed in a cool, dry place, ideally around 16–18°C, away from sunlight and strong odours.

If refrigeration is necessary, keep the pack tightly sealed and allow it to return fully to room temperature before opening. This helps prevent condensation and sugar bloom.

Trade Terms

Will I get a GST invoice?

Yes. Trade orders are invoiced by GACS Foods under HSN 1806.

To raise the invoice, we need your registered entity name, GSTIN, billing address and place of supply.

Input tax credit is subject to your eligibility under applicable GST rules.

What if my consignment arrives damaged?

Contact us immediately and send photographs of the outer carton, inner packaging and affected product.

Please retain the product and packaging until the claim is resolved.

Approved refunds are processed within 48 to 72 hours and generally reach the original payment method within 5 to 7 working days.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis.

International shipping depends on the destination, order quantity, customs requirements and temperature conditions. Duties, VAT and local charges are generally the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Contact us with your destination before ordering.
